There’s some good things in this piece, though calling John Kasich a ‘firebrand’ doesn’t really work since his voice is so syrupy it makes my blood crystallize.

I’m a little cynical when it comes to anything Kasich does. He can play to the crowd as well as any. Let’s hope he is growing compassionate. Or, maybe he is finding his way to the middle knowing the last time he followed his Tea Party type colleagues he had his head handed to him by the Ohio voters when they signed a massive petition to get Ohio Senate Bill 5 overturned in the next vote which did pass and eliminated his first ‘baby’.

He has also taken a lot of heat over the sneaky abortion limits he snuck into the Ohio general budget late on a Sunday night when no one was watching. A very similar set of limits on clinics like Texas. The women of Ohio saw it though, and they will remember it.

If he wants to keep his office past one term he might have to start dancing around a bit because in the tough on Republican climate in this country he is not stupid enough to know he could be gone due to association.

I still say the Republicans and especially the Tea Party types think they took control of the US House in 2010 due to politics. To me it was a “vote the bums out” turnover that cost the Democrats that time due to American being pissed over the downturn in the economy and no jobs. I believe there is going to be an even larger “vote the bums out” coming in 2014…and this time more of the bums are going to be targeted if they have an R by their name, or even mention Tea.

Forget who said it. Personality is not the point.

The GOP idealogues vision for America will have unintended consequences.

People who are starving with no food, no job, no healthcare and no prospects for the future engage in crime to survive.
